On Friday November 19, 2011, I witnessed one of the most emotional, touching, and love filled ceremonies I’ve ever seen. Teresa and Rich have been married for 25 years; however, they never had a formal wedding. When Rich was diagnosed with a serious, life threatening cancer, their good friend Stephen Albert, director of the Western Transportation Institute at MSU, decided to change this. He contacted some local wedding vendors to jump in and help out, and arranged a dream wedding for Rich and Teresa at Chico Hot Springs. Steve flew them out from the midwest for a beautiful winter wonderland wedding. It was a small, intimate wedding with Teresa’s brother as the best man, her best friend the maid of honor, and Steve as a witness. We all gathered around and next to a cozy fireplace, under a snowy Montana sky, Rich and Teresa renewed their vows. I was simply blown away by the love and dedication Teresa and Rich have for each other. Tears flowed down all our cheeks (including mine) as love surrounded us, filled us up, and reminded us that it is everlasting. I’m so honored to have been part of this special day. A special thanks to all the other vendors that helped out as well: Beth Renick officiated, the very talented Leslie Lukas did the flowers, Megan Jacks of After Five and Weddings contributed the formal wear, Elle’s Belle’s donated a beautiful cake, Tim and Randi Jacobsen of Moonstone Pictures did all the videography, Chico provided rooms and hospitality, and my very talented good friend Larry Stanley teamed up with me to cover the photos. What an amazing day! I know it will be a day Teresa and Rich remember forever. Teresa and Rich…I wish you many more years of happiness together!
Such a touching story Cali. I’m now sitting here sobbing. A great reminder during the holiday season to remember what is important in life: love and everything about it. Thank you!
